On an infamously miserable tour of Sapelo Island in Georgia, one guest wonders where they get fresh water.

"But what about the wells?", he asks.

"The whales?" replies the confused tour guide.

Due to the heavy southern drawl of both men, 'whales' and 'wells' are phonetically indistinguishable.

"Yeah, the wells", confirms the guest. There are indeed wells on the island. There are also whales off the island.

"...the whales?" replies the confused guide once again. Or it could have been wells, this time. Impossible to say, really.

"...yes, the wells", confirms the guest, seemingly not understanding the source of confusion.

"...like, water whales?" the guide attempts to clarify. This did not clarify anything, as both wells and whales are intimately tied to water.

And thus, Water Whales was born.
